John Libby is a geologist with over 20 years of resource industry experience in Australia. He is the managing director of New World Energy, a Western Australian-focussed geothermal exploration company, and is a founder and Director of Digirock Pty Ltd, a high-profile geological consulting and contracting company which specialises in deep and logistically-challenging drilling. Mr Libby graduated from the University of Western Australia with a number of academic awards and a First Class Honours degree in Geology, and since graduating he has worked for a range of major and minor resources companies where he has developed a strong strategic and business focus.
 
Mr Libby is a highly active participant in the Australian resources industry. He sits as Secretary on the Executive Committee of the Australian Geothermal Energy Association and is a member of various associations, including the Australian Institute of Geoscientists, the Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He is also a representative at the Australian Institute of Energy, Association of Mining and Exploration Companies and the WA Sustainable Energy Association. Additionally, he is Secretary of Geoconferences (WA) Inc, a non-profit organisation that promotes geosciences in Australia and he represents AGEA on the WA Geological Survey Liaison Committee.
