AGEA is the national industry association for the Australian Geothermal
Energy Industry -  geothermal energy has the potential to increasingly provide both:
  • A low-cost, emissions-free baseload of reliable and secure energy for the national market over the next decade; and
  • A reliable, low-cost source of heat to drive energy efficiency and industrial applications.
AGEA and it's members works with all Australian Governments, the academic community, relevant scientific organisations and the media to promote information about the progress of the industry and its capabilities.

"Geothermal companies are being urged to submit their applications for funding of up to $7 million under the Australian Government's Geothermal Drilling Program which opened for applications 10 June 2009" in a media release by Hon. Martin Ferguson, Minister for Resources and Energy

2009 Australian Geothermal Energy Conference to be held in Brisbane, 10 - 13 November 2009

A function will be held on Monday 22nd June in Adelaide for AGEA members and interested parties in the geothermal industry.
The Hon P Holloway, MLC is the special guest.

A similar function is planned in July in Perth.
